Ashok R.Nath, was born in Trivandrum district and after completing college education, he joined Southern Film Institute and acquired diploma in Movie Script Writing and Film Direction. Later he gained valuable experience under the able guidance of popular film director Sri.Jayaraj. He has produced and directed a good number of documentary films, ad films etc., both independently and along with director Sri.K.K.Chandran, even from his student days.
The FIRST Malayalam film which he independently directed was “Saphalam”, In the year 2003, he got the National Award for films of Regional Language,and the Film critics award for debut directors. “Saphalam” was recognized both in National and International levels. His second film was “December”. and the third, Mizhikal Sakshi,in which Mohanlal is the hero. The movie was exhibited in many international forums and got accolades.His forth movie is Venshankhupol.
