Kallan Pavithran could be considered as one of the movies which set a trend for the Gopi-Nedumudi pair team,which later became an essential feature for most of the movies,when either one of them was selected for a role.The association dates back to their theatre days when they shared many stages including Kavalam's 'Thiruvarangu'. In this movie Gopi plays Maamachan the mill owner. He dons the role a simpleton, an extension of the Kodiyettam character, Shankarankutty, but effotlessly adds another dimension to the earlier one.
