Siddique is a Malayalam film actor, producer, and television compere. He started his film career doing comedy roles and transformed into a powerful character actor. He is also rated as a high quality performer in negative roles.
Siddique started his career in the late 1980s with minor roles. His major break came in 1990 when along with Mukesh, Jagadeesh, and Asokan he was cast as one of the heroes in In Harihar Nagar. The movie directed by Siddique (director) and Lal went on to become a huge success starting a streak of such low budget comedy movies. Siddique became an essential part of such movies along with Mukesh and! Jagadeesh. The film in the genre include Manthrikacheppu (1992), Simhavalan Menon, Kasargode Kadarbhai (1992), Thiruthalvadi (1992), Mughamudra (1992) Kunukkitta Kozhi (1992), Mookkilla Rajyathu (1991), Mimics Parade, Griha Pravesam, Welcome to Kodaikanal, Kavadiyattam, Mughachithram, Kinnaripuzhayoram etc. He was cast opposite leading heroines of the time like Parvathy Jayaram, Shobana Chandrakumar, Sunitha, Mathu, and Suchithra. His performance in Godfather by Siddique-Lal was again much appreciated. Siddique also did action roles in some films. In Ayalathe Addeham, he enacted a soft villain. He played the role of Sarath a young Police officer in Ekalavyan in which he supported Suresh Gopi.
Mid 1990s did not go well for Siddique with a chore of personal problems affecting his career. He made a come back in late 1990s with supporting roles. The notable ones were Asuravamsam with Manoj K. Jayan, Lelam and Crime File both with Suresh Gopi. These films ensured h! is return to the main stream. In Sathyameva Jayathe, he played! a cold blooded villain opposite Suresh Gopi in which he appeared in a completely different get up. With the success of the film, Siddique was offered a number of opportunities as villain.
During this period, he also acted in television serials. His role in Sthree with Vinaya Prasad was a huge hit among the Malayalam television audience. He also anchored a musical program Sallapam in Doordarshan.
In 2002 he produced Nandanam which was the directorial debut of script writer Renjith. The movie featured young actors Prithviraj Sukumaran and Navya Nair. Siddique appeared in a small but completely different role in the film. This was a box office hit despite the absence of major stars.
Siddique started appearing in a number of different looks in his later films. This can be seen in films such as Chota Mumbai, Hallo, Nadiya Kollappetta Raathri, Udayon, Vellinakshatram, The Tiger, and Alibhai.
He encouraged director Lal to pictur! ise the sequel to In Harihar Nagar. The movie 2 Harihar Nagar was released in 2009 with the middle aged actors Jagadeesh, Mukesh, and Asokan coming together. The movie became another huge success.
