Pallathu Veettil Govindan Kutty, popularly known as G K Pallath, was born to Narayanan Nair and Ammini Amma in Thrissur. He started writing poems from seventh standard of his school days. First poem was written for the Communist Party Plenum which took place at Thrissur on 1958. The song starting "Rakthathirakal Neenthivarum", sung by K.S. George and Sulochana was composed by Das Kottappuram. Later, he wrote a few amateur dramas like "Dhoorthuputhri", "Kudumbavilakku", etc. and a few drama songs. He entered cinema lyrics through the movie "Padasaram", produced by his friend T.G. Ravi. This was followed by lyrics of songs for the movies "Chora chuvanna chora", "Chaakara", "Amruthageetham", "Kaattuthee", "Kaaleechakram", "Veerashrnkhala", "Kumkumappottu" and "Vaalkkannaadi". He wrote songs for a few albums too, like "Chinganilaavu" and "Manassile shaarika" (Music by M.K. Arjunan).
He was an employee of Kerala State Revenue Department.
