Jyothika Sadanah Saravanan is a Tamil film actress who acted in several Tamil films. She also acted in a few Telugu and Hindi films. Her notable films include Khushi, Kaaka Kaaka, Perazhagan, Chandramukhi and Mozhi.
Jyothika Saravanan was born to Chander Sadanah, a film producer, and Seema Sadanah on 18 October 1978 in Mumbai. She is a Punjabi Muslim and she did her schooling in Chembur Muslim School in Mumbai. She has a half sister Nagma (original name Nandita) also an actress, from her mother's previous marriage.
She married a popular actor Surya Sivakumar on 11 September 2006.Who she has also acted with in more than 5 films. they fell in love and married. The star couple have a daughter named Diya, who was born in 2007.
Her first movie was the Hindi film Doli Saja Ke Rakhna, directed by Priyadarshan. She proceeded to act in Kollywood films, where she debuted in a guest appearance in Vaali.
Her first Tamil movie as a lead artist was Poovellam Kettuppar with Surya Sivakumar. She starred in Kushi, for which she won the Filmfare Best Tamil Actress Award, Mugavari, Thenali and Dumm Dumm Dumm. She won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actress for two years successively in 2004 and 2005 (for Perazhagan in 2004 and for Chandramukhi in 2005 ).
