Jyothirmayi

Jyothirmayi acted in various films in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and English. She has acted as the heroine of Malayalam superstars including Mohanlal and Mammootty. She also got offers opposite superstars Sathyaraj, Vijaykanth etc. She was a serial artist initially. Indraneelam is one of her famous serials. She has also acted in some Telefilms. In her first film Pilots, She played a minor character. She became a top actress after Meesha Madhavan. She married Nishanth, a software engineer on 6 September 2004. She was born in Kottayam and is the only child of her parents. She resides in Kochi at Kochukadavanthara. She studied at Mata Nagar School (where she and Nishanth studied in the same class) and after that at St. Mary's School. Joined Maharaja's College for pre-degree. She studied for diploma in Public Relations and Journalism from Kerala Press Academy. It was then that she began anchoring programmes on Citi channel and later Asianet. Her start was with ramp shows and modelling. Later, she went into serials and from there onto movies.

Awards
She received the Kerala State Award for Best Second Actress in 2002 for her film Bhavam. She received the National Film Award (Special Jury Award) in 2003 for her film Bhavam.
