KP Ummer

K. P. Ummer was a Malayalam cinema actor from Thekkepuram village in Kozhikode, Kerala, India. He was active in cinema from early sixties until late nineties.
Ummer died on October 29, 2001 at a private hospital in Chennai. He was a versatile actor, who carved a niche for himself in the minds of Malayalis with his negative roles. He won many awards, including the Kerala State Film Award for best supporting actor. He has co-starred with the leading Malayalam cinema actors Sathyan and Prem Nazir in several movies. Although a veteran of Villain roles, in the later years he excelled in several character roles.
