Pasupathy

Pasupathy was born in 1968 near Maduravoyal, Tamil Nadu, India. He has appeared in a several critically acclaimed roles in many noted Tamil films.

A Mechanical Engineer by profession, had fine-tuned his acting skills through the famous acting school "Kootthu Pattarai" at Chennai.

He used to work as an All India Radio Tamil jockey from 1988 to 1993 as a news reporter. He had also acted in a number of small serials, including a small part in S. V. Shekhar's Vanna Kolangal. He first came to fame in the famous Doordarshan serial Vizhuthugal directed by Gopi Bhimsingh, which was instrumental in launching a great number of present day television stars. His first break in commercial cinema was in Housefull where he played a corrupt cop. He also had a small role in the film Aalavandhan.

He got his first major recognized role in Virumaandi(Kothaala Thevar) and Kannathil Muthamittal where he played an LTTE freedom fighter. He later began appearing in negative roles in a number of films such as Dhool, Virumaandi, Thirupaachi. He later branched out into comedy with Mumbai Express and Majaa. His first lead role was in the National Film Award-winning film Veyyil. He later received several other supporing and lead roles in the films Raman Thediya Seethai and Kuselan.
